Color Palettes We Love: Yellow! | Spring Weddings | Wedding Flowers

Friday, February 25, 2011 at 9:20AM While the rain is hammering the window as I sit at my desk, and the forecast is calling for snow (snow? really?!) I am dreaming of Spring, which I know is right around the corner. Ah, Spring, warmer temperatures, longer days, budding fruit trees. First flowers sprouting from the ground: Tulips, daffodils, crocus. Spring, the harbinger of rebirth and all things new and hopeful, and, of course, THE START OF WEDDING SEASON!!
So, as I sit here, dreaming of Spring, I am thinking back on some of our favorite Spring weddings… the types of flowers, the fragrances, and the colors.
One of our favorite colors for Spring (and beyond) is YELLOW! So fresh, so vibrant, so hopeful and happy. Perfect, really, when you’re talking about a wedding. And, yellow is versatile. There are so many shades, from the subdued, buttery creams all the way to the bright lemony tones. Whether kept in monochromatic arrangements of all yellow shades, or combined with other colors, you can use yellows for a look that can be anything from traditional and elegant, to modern and sassy.
I’ve included here a small sampling of some of our favorite yellow arrangements. SO FUN!

Thank you to Adeline and Grace Photography and Richard Wood Photographics for these stunning images.
